BS 15000 Certification Scheme Launched

Today the itSMF announced the launch of the certification scheme for BS 15000, the world's Service Management standard. The scheme is designed to provide a structured, repeatable and consistent framework for certification. The award of the BS 15000 certificate follows an audit by Registered Certification Bodies (RCBs). The RCBs assess a company's capability to meet the standard. Where successful a certificate is awarded and follow up "surveillance audits" are performed every 6-12 months and focus on previous areas of concern/samples of the Service Management capability. On the third anniversary of the initial award the RCB will perform a full repeat assessment.
